Well, the best parts of Milan are those that you have to
seek
out apart from the incredible cathedral in the middle of town....
the Duomo.... which you just can't miss....

at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana first opened to the public opened to the public on 8 December 1609.. WOW!
at the Castello Sforzesco (a powerful family dynasty's castle that ruled Milan for centuries)- construction began in the 14th century....

The Galleria and Piazza Duomo
Inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II or il salotto di Milano
(Milan's most expensive shopping centre, designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877)
rubbing your foot on the bull's testies for good luck (to avoid Mengoni's bad luck- he fell to his death from the roof not long before it opened so he wasn't able to see his finished product)

Monastero Maggiore:
at the Monastero Maggiore- where the church was separated into two parts (one where the nuns worshiped and the other where the priest conducted the mass and the public could worship)
It's one of the most intact archaeological sites in Milan.
